“Not bringing Korean aesthetic medicine to Japan, but creating aesthetic medicine in Japan that speaks to the world.”

A Message from the Director

Thank you for taking the time to learn about Korea Minyoung Clinic, out of the many aesthetic clinics you could have chosen.

I was born and raised in Korea and came to Japan as a Japanese government scholarship student to study at Kyoto University. A visiting program at Harvard Medical School in 2006 was what made me decide to become a doctor. I went back to Korea, studied medicine from the beginning, and obtained my Korean medical license.

At aesthetic clinics in Korea, I worked not only with thread lifts and hyaluronic acid fillers but with a wide range of cosmetic dermatology and body contouring treatments, and I cared for many patients who had travelled from Japan. That experience left me with one clear wish: that patients in Japan should be able to receive Korean-standard aesthetic medicine without having to fly to Korea.

With that wish in mind, I obtained my Japanese medical license and trained at Tokyo Medical University Hospital, where I learned the Japanese medical system and its approach to patient safety. In 2022, I opened Korea Minyoung Clinic in Ginza.

The Aesthetic Medicine I Believe In

To me, aesthetic medicine is not about offering whatever treatment is in fashion. It is about finding the cause of each person’s concern and choosing the right combination of treatments.

Our clinic focuses on non-surgical aesthetic medicine, aiming for natural, beautiful changes that suit each face.

  • Sofwave for facial and neck wrinkles
  • Korean-style hyaluronic acid design
  • Muscle control with botulinum toxin
  • Skin quality injections
  • Body contouring

Areas of Expertise

Rather than relying on a single treatment, I build a tailored plan for each patient.

  • Nasolabial folds and perioral drape wrinkles
  • Neck wrinkles
  • Sofwave
  • Korean-style body contouring
  • Leg contouring
  • Revision after liposuction
  • Revision after facelift
  • Skin quality care

Research and Academic Work

I believe my role goes beyond daily practice to helping aesthetic medicine itself move forward, so I am active in academic societies and in research into new concepts.

JANPD

Japan Nasolabial Fold and Perioral Drape Study Group

I lead a study group that researches and systematizes a new way of understanding ageing around the mouth.

  • Proposed the new concept of “perioral drape” wrinkles
  • Developed a three-axis classification of wrinkles

JABC

  • Muscle control
  • Cellulite control
  • Skin control

My Wish for Our Patients

I am not aiming for beauty that lasts only a moment.

I hope my patients will still feel confident and smile five and ten years from now, and I want to offer aesthetic medicine that stays with each of them through life. Drawing on what I have learned and experienced in both Korea and Japan, I bring together Korean beauty and Japanese naturalness, and share it with the world from Ginza.

I will keep building my skills, knowledge and research so that our clinic remains a place where you can come for advice with peace of mind. Please feel free to get in touch.
