Why I treated her myself
When my mother visited Tokyo from Korea, I had the opportunity to treat someone very special to me.
As both her daughter and her physician, my goal was not to make her look like a different person. I wanted to create a personalized treatment plan that respected her natural facial features while addressing her concerns about her jawline and neck.
Two areas, two different plans
Rather than using the same treatment for every area, I designed two different approaches.
FACE AND JAWLINE
Sofwave + Sculptra
I combined Sofwave ultrasound treatment with Sculptra, a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator.
NECK
Sofwave + Elravie Re2O
I combined Sofwave with Elravie Re2O to address the different characteristics of the neck skin.
What this case shows
Facial rejuvenation is not about choosing one device or injectable for everyone. It begins with understanding the anatomy, skin condition, and treatment goals of each individual.
This case illustrates an important principle in my clinical practice. The jawline and the neck are different areas with different skin, so I did not treat them the same way.
How to read this case
Because multiple treatments were performed, the observed changes cannot be attributed to Sofwave alone. This is a clinical case illustration, not a controlled study, and individual outcomes may vary.
About the treatments
| Sofwave | An ultrasound skin-tightening device. Approved in Japan (approval no. 30700BZX00082000; indication: improvement of wrinkles of the face and neck). |

| Elravie Re2O | A skin-booster injectable. Not approved in Japan; approved by Korea’s MFDS, not approved by the US FDA. Imported and used under the judgment and responsibility of our physician. |
